McDonough Joins Legislators, Advocates For Animal Advocacy Day In Albany
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) joined legislators, local leaders and activists at the Legislature’s annual Animal Advocacy Day in Albany. McDonough, who conducts his own pet food drive on Long Island from February to April, discussed the importance of protecting our state’s animals and pets and said the state should do more to encourage adoption and strengthen penalties for those who abuse animals.
“I know the joy and comfort a pet can bring a young child and a family and we need to do everything we can to protect that,” McDonough said. “This is one of my favorite days of the year because of the wide array of animals we have the opportunity to meet. I try to give back to Long Island pets through my annual pet food drive and encourage all my constituents to consider adopting a pet from the local shelter or humane society.”
