McDonough Stands With Middle-Class Families Against Gov.’s Proposed 26% Income Tax Hike
A Statement from Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) on Gov. Cuomo’s threatening a tax hike on New York’s families
March 22, 2017
“Gov. Cuomo’s only response when met with a change that would cost him political leverage and votes is to make mindless threats and take more money out of Long Island families’ pockets. That is absolutely disgraceful.
“If the Faso-Collins Amendment passes tomorrow as part of the American Health Care Act, Nassau County alone would save hundreds of millions of dollars. If the state joined the rest of the country and paid for Medicaid entirely it would save local taxpayers tremendously and lead to a reduction in property-taxes. I stand with Long Island families against the governor’s absurd threats and will fight this every step of the way.”
