Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the North Merrick Theatre Arts Program by awarding each director, Mrs. Joyce Kelley and Ms. Gail Appel, along with the North Merrick School Superintendent Cynthia Seniuk, with official Assembly Citations. McDonough is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

“Support for the arts is such an important issue across the country, and right here on Long Island we have so many talented actors, actresses, directors and producers,” McDonough said. “Their rendition of Peter Pan was one of the best that I’ve seen, and anyone can tell from the high attendance that this program has a valuable reputation and excellent pedigree. It is crucial that we continue to support local theatre and arts as many of the individuals involved are dedicated volunteers who play an integral role in its tradition.”
