McDonough’s Hunger Drive Collects over 4,000 Pounds of Food for Needy Families
As a result of his annual Summer Drive to End Hunger, Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) announced today that the drive generated 4,002 pounds of donations that will go to needy local families. The drive was in conjunction with Long Island Cares Inc. and King Kullen grocery stores.
“Our summer food drive was once again a huge success and I would like to thank all the volunteers from Long Island Cares and all of our generous neighbors for participating,” McDonough said. “Unfortunately, there are still many families struggling with hunger on Long Island and even a couple cans of non-perishable food will go a long way in helping them get back on their feet. If you are interested in helping our cause, my office conducts an ongoing, perennial food drive and donations go directly to less fortunate families here on Long Island.”
