McDonough Recognizes Remarkable Life Stories at Women of Distinction Ceremony
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) honored eight women with official Assembly Proclamations as part of his Women of Distinction ceremony which took place on October 20th at the Merrick Library. The annual event honors local women who have made tremendous contributions to their community and have shared remarkable personal stories of dedication, perseverance and success. This year’s winners hail from Merrick, North Bellmore, Wantagh and Seaford. They have excelled in education, healthcare, humanitarianism, faith-based services and volunteerism.
“Long Island is such a unique and thriving place due in part to the tremendous individuals we have here willing to go above and beyond to help, teach and care for others,” McDonough said. “This is one of my favorite events of the year because it allows me to use my platform as a public official to recognize and give back to those who are genuinely compassionate and dedicated and set a great example of how to achieve success in their chosen field. It was my pleasure to honor these eight women representing all parts of my Assembly district, and I wish them all the best of success in the future.”
