McDonough Condemns the Assembly Majoritys Tax & Spend Budget Wish list
March 14, 2019
New York City Majority members are rolling out plans for tax hikes to the tune of $5.7 billion over the next two years during a time when New Yorkers are struggling to get by and residents continue to flee our state.
If that wasnt bad enough, this plan ignores the desperate need for middle-class tax relief-such as making the property tax cap permanent. As a veteran, I am also troubled to see the cuts proposed to the Joseph P. Dwyer Program and other veterans counseling services.
When the Senate and the Assembly Majority are in full control of state government, this is the price the middle-class will pay. New Yorkers deserve better, and I will remain committed to fighting for a more prosperous state during this legislative session.
