McDonough: Enough Is Enough, Unmask our Children

Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) joined his colleagues in the Assembly Minority Conference to introduce a bill that would prohibit a mask mandate by state agencies for children in educational settings like schools and camps. It would apply to all New Yorkers under 18 years old who are healthy and asymptomatic.

“Our parents, teachers and children have faced near-insurmountable odds throughout this school year,” said McDonough. “Our children are being denied basic human decency. It’s unthinkable that they have to wear masks in a 90-degree classroom with no air conditioning. No reasonable person would force them to keep masks on. We must apply common sense here, unmask our children.”
