Humane Society Encourages Holiday Donations
$15 thousand legislative grant provides supplies for local shelter
Binghamton, NY – With the holidays approaching, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo announced details of a legislative grant she obtained for the Broome County Humane Society. The $15 thousand grant will help purchase medical and pet supplies for the animal shelter. The Assemblywoman and representatives from the Humane Society used Thursday’s announcement as an opportunity to call on the community to help out during the holiday season.
“As the owner of a rescue kitty, I’m very appreciative of the work the Humane Society does,” said Lupardo. “I’m glad I was able to secure this grant that will aid in the animals’ care until they find their forever homes. As people look for ways to give back during the holidays, I encourage them to think about donating to animal shelters.”
“The Humane Society has provided care and services for over 650 animals this year and each year this number grows,” said Humane Society Executive Director Karen Matson. “This grant will help us purchase necessary surgical equipment and supplies that directly impact animals in need. We are grateful for Assemblywoman Lupardo’s support and that of those in the community that have contributed to the shelter.”
