Assemblyman Smith said, “Yesterday, I was proud to join with our Federal and Local officials in honoring our active service members for Armed Forces Day. This ceremony emphasized the service and sacrifice of both the brave men and women who wear the uniforms and their families. I spoke with the family of FDNY Lt. Christopher Raguso, who lost his life on March 15th when his helicopter when down in Iraq. His family spoke of the hundreds of lives their son had saved and that in everything he did, he always gave it his all. May God bless all of our service members in harm’s way and watch over the families that wait for them to return. May we also keep all of the Gold Star families in our hearts and prayers, as their pain endures with each passing day.”
