Assemblyman Doug Smith joined Islandia Mayor Al Dorman along with town and county officials at the grand opening of the Village of Islandia’s new 9/11 First Responders Memorial Park.

Assemblyman Smith said: “I was honored to join Mayor Al Dorman for the dedication of the new 9/11 First Responders Memorial Park and Ballfield in the Village of Islandia. My predecessor, Assemblyman Al Graf, and I were happy to assist the village in transferring the property to the village in 2013, but never imagined just how beautiful this park would become. Mayor Dorman and the Village Trustees should be commended for making this monumental community vision a reality for the benefit of our children and in remembrance of our heroes.”
