Assemblyman Doug Smith recently joined with Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Islip Town Board Members in renaming Inverness Road in Holbrook after FDNY Captain Vincent Rocco Ungaro.

Assemblyman Smith said, “I was honored to attend this afternoon’s touching ceremony renaming Inverness Road in Holbrook in memory of FDNY Captain Vincent Rocco Ungaro. Captain Ungaro is a hero in our community who spent months on the pile following September 11th and recently lost his battle to cancer as a result of that service. May God bless him and watch over his family.”
