Assemblyman Braunstein Announces Winners of Mother’s Day Essay and Poetry Contest
Bayside, NY – Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) is proud to announce the winners of his annual Mother's Day Essay & Poetry Contest for students in grades two through five. They are:
- 2nd grader: Roy Park, P.S. 130 in Flushing; poem titled, “Mom Will Get a 10 out of 10 in a Lovely Test”
- 3rd grader: Pierce Zhong, P.S. 159 in Bayside; untitled essay
- 4th grader: Katrina Li, P.S. 115 in Glen Oaks; untitled essay
- 5th grader: Eleanor De Silva, P.S. 221 in Little Neck; poem titled, “My Mom the Jalapeño Pepper”
“Roy, Pierce, Katrina and Eleanor should each be very proud of their well-composed, creative, and award-winning entries. This achievement is shared by their families, teachers and school communities,” said Assemblyman Edward Braunstein. “I want to thank all of the students from schools throughout Northeast Queens who submitted heartfelt entries to my office’s annual Mother’s Day Essay and Poetry Contest and wish everyone a happy and safe summer.”
All winners received an Amazon gift card and a New York State Assembly Certificate of Merit. All entrants received a participatory certificate.
