Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) announced the winners of his Mother's Day Essay & Poetry Contest for students in grades two through five:

• 2nd Grade Grand Prize: Alexa Piotrowski, who attends St. Andrew Avellino School in Flushing.
• 3rd Grade Grand Prize: Fiona Lu, who attends PS 209: Clearview Gardens School in Whitestone.
• 4th Grade Grand Prize: Jayden Chen, who attends PS 94: David Porter School in Little Neck.
• 5th Grade Grand Prize: Faith Lutzky, who attends Sacred Heart School in Bayside.

"Congratulations to all of the winners. Nearly 400 students from schools in Queens participated in my Mother's Day Essay & Poetry Contest and I was very impressed with their heartfelt and creative entries," said Assemblyman Braunstein.
