On August 13, 2015, Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) sponsored his 3rd Annual Summer Blood Drive in conjunction with the New York Blood Center.

“128 donors participated, and thanks to their generosity, hundreds of lives will be saved,” said Assemblyman Braunstein. “Thank you to the New York Blood Center for its hard work, and for providing free pairs of New York Mets tickets to all the donors. Additionally, I would like to thank Cord Meyer Development Company and the Bay Terrace Shopping Center for providing the venue; Panera Bread Bay Terrace – Doherty Enterprises, Inc. for providing free pastries for all the donors; and Ben's Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers for providing vouchers for free pints of soup for the first 60 donors.”
