Assemblyman Braunstein Honors Ronald McDonald House of Long Island
On August 11, 2016, Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) presented a New York State Legislative Resolution to the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island in honor of its 30th Anniversary.
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, which is located in New Hyde Park, Queens, opened its doors for the first time on September 29, 1986. Since its opening, the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island has served over 20,000 families from the United States and more than 80 countries.
“For the last 30 years, the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island has given comfort and shelter to families with hospitalized children by providing them with a temporary haven in a comfortable environment among other families in similar circumstances. The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island has numerous programs to assist those in need, including having volunteers prepare home-cooked meals and transport children and their families to and from medical appointments,” said Assemblyman Braunstein.
