“I commend Gov. Hochul for ending the New Year on a strong note by signing local pharmacy “rescue” bills on New Year’s Eve.

“I’m particularly proud to see a bill I supported (A.1396) included in this package that will help New Yorkers by creating desperately-needed transparency in prescription drug pricing and will require licensure and regulation of Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to prevent secret negotiations.

“This is a major victory for local pharmacies and the patients that rely upon them. It is a necessary step to ensuring accountability, transparency and fair dealing between PBMs and our local pharmacies we rely upon.”
