Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I, D, WF-Sag Harbor) today announced that the New York State Department of Transportation has plans to make improvements to ensure safe, reliable and comfortable transportation for non-motorized travelers on pedestrian walkways along State Route 24, also known as Flanders Road, from the Riverhead traffic circle to east of Bellows Pond Road.

This project will install and/or upgrade sidewalk curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Department of Transportation standards.

Construction is expected to commence in the Spring of 2016.
