Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) for the first eight months of 2014 produced revenue of $64.14 million. A year ago $58.53 million was collected for the same period, or 9.6% more than last year. August revenues totaled $8.44 million. CPF revenues for the same month last year were $5.86 million.

Since its inception on 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $948.88 million. The CPF has generated $101.05 million in the last 12 months.

"Thiele stated, "The CPF continues to see steady growth in revenues in the first eight months of 2014, exceeding 2013 by 9.6%. 2013 was the second largest year for CPF revenues, exceeded only by 2007. For the first eight months, CPF revenues have been consistently between $7 and $10 million per month. This reflects the continued strength and stability in East End real estate and the continued availability to local Towns of the necessary revenues to protect community character. "

Thiele added, "At the 2/3rds year mark, CPF revenues are on track to produce more than $95 million, the highest annual total since 2007 before the Great Recession."
