Thiele: Route 114, from Stephen Hands Path to NY27, Set to be Repaved
June 22, 2015
Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I, D, WF-Sag Harbor) announced today that State Route 114 will be repaved later this year, from its intersection with Stephen Hands Path southeast to its terminus with State Road 27 in the Village of East Hampton.
Funding for this project is included in an accelerated $75 million allocation to repair widespread road damage from deep frost this winter.
The project will entail removing the worn top layer of pavement from all travel lanes and shoulders and installing a new asphalt riding surface.
Assemblyman Thiele had long lobbied for this repaving project, sending correspondence to the New York State Department of Transportation in August 2014 and January 2015.
