State Economic Development Funding Will Assist East End Economy
South Fork will benefit from nearly $5.7 million in funding
State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr., (I, D, WF-Sag Harbor) announced that the East End will benefit from the economic development grants awarded by Governor Cuomo on Thursday, December 10, 2015 through the Regional Economic Development Councils (REDC).
This year, the 10 Regional Councils competed for funding and assistance from up to $750 million in state economic development resources as part of Round V of the REDC competition. Long Island was a “Top Performer Awardee” of $98.3 million to support 121 projects that focus on several key initiatives for regional growth. Thiele identified a number of those projects that will benefit the 1st Assembly District, including:
