Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues are $46.16 Million for First Half of 2016 Compared with $48.28 Million in 2015

Revenues Are 4.4% LOWER than Last Year; Cumulative CPF Revenues Total $1.14 Billion

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that 2016 revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) for the first six months produced revenue of $46.16 million. A year ago $48.28 million was collected for the same period, or 4.4% percent LESS than last year. June revenues totaled $7.38 million. CPF revenues for the same month last year were $9.02 million.

The number of transactions for the first six months of 2016 was 3,125 compared with 3,689 a year ago. Since its inception on 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.14 billion. The CPF has generated $102.84 million in the last 12 months.

Thiele stated, "The CPF revenues in the first six (6) months of 2016 are less than 2015 by 4.4%. This marks the fourth consecutive month that CPF revenues are less than the same month in 2015. Over the last four months CPF revenues were $27.27 million compared with $32.96 million a year ago or a 17.3% decline. While CPF revenues are on pace to exceed $90 million for the year, the Towns should take note of this downward trend. Only the Town of East Hampton has shown a substantial increase in revenue over last year at +11.6%."
