State Budget Agreement Provides Funding for Community Voices for Youth and Families of Long Island
Coalition of Long Island groups serving children and youth will receive $1.5 million in state funding; Bridgehampton Child Care Center and Colonial Youth and Family Services among the recipients
New York State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (D, I, WF, WE-Sag Harbor) today announced that the State Budget has provided funding in the amount of $1.5 million to provide services to children, youth and families across Long Island. The program is called “Community Voices for Youth and Families of Long Island”. The State is providing $1.5 million in funding to support agencies across Long Island. Among the agencies in the 1st Assembly District are the Bridgehampton Child Care center and Colonial Youth and Family Services.
Thiele stated, “Bridgehampton CCC and Colonial Youth both have demonstrated track records in their communities for providing services to families in need. There can be no doubt that the demand for services continues to increase while resources are harder and harder to come by for these not-for-profit agencies. I am pleased that the State can assist these grassroots agencies that are critical to meeting the needs of local families. They are a part of the safety net that insures that all children in our community have the chance for a successful future.”
