Assemblyman Thiele Joins Colleagues in Sending Letter to Congress Urging Removal of President Trump
January 13, 2021
Yesterday, Assemblyman Thiele joined over 75 of his Assembly colleagues in a letter to Congressional leadership urging and supporting prompt and swift action to remove Donald J. Trump as President of the United States. Following last Wednesday’s attempted insurrection at the United States Capitol building, incited by the sitting President’s actions and words, the letter warrants that the only appropriate recourse is removal from office to prevent further, irreversible damage to our Republic. Critically, the letter notes the urgency of setting a precedent to prevent future recurrences, and of working with President-elect Biden’s administration to defeat COVID-19 and urgently address the Nation’s economic recovery from this crisis.
