The State Department of Transportation (DOT) has reported to my office that progress for the proposed resurfacing of NY114 from Stephen Hands Path to the South Ferry continues. Design for the project is underway and a bid opening is expected in September of this year. Initial work will begin in the fall, with the bulk of the actual paving occurring during the 2022 construction season.

In addition, the DOT reports that additional safety enhancements are being planned for NY114 under a separate project. This includes the widening of intersections and adding of turn lanes at Stephen Hands Path and Goodfriend Drive. This project is expected to be bid in the fall of 2022 with construction in 2023.

Other safety improvements suggested by the public continue to be under consideration for inclusion in these projects.
