Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues for the First Four Months of 2021 are $75.17 Million Compared with $38.32 Million in 2020
2021 YTD revenues are 96.2% greater than 2020
Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. today reported that 2021 revenues for the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) for the first four months were $75.17 million. This is 96.2% HIGHER than the first four months a year ago, when $38.32 million was collected. April 2021 revenues totaled $19.95 million, compared with $7.4 million in 2020.
Since its inception in 1999, the Peconic Bay Regional Community Preservation Fund has generated $1.675 billion. In the last 12 months, the CPF has generated $176 million. The 2% tax under the CPF expires in 2050.
Thiele stated, “Revenues for the CPF continue to reflect the significant increase in real estate activity on the East End since the advent of the pandemic. This marks the 9th straight month that revenues have exceeded $10 million per month. The last 7 months have all exceeded $15 million per month. The CPF generated nearly the same amount of revenue in the first four months of 2021 as all of 2019.”
