Assemblymember Bronson: Assembly Budget Restores $15.5 Million for Summer Youth Employment Program
“Despite a difficult economic climate that forced cuts and concessions, the Assembly fought hard to ensure the state’s most critical programs and services weren’t affected. Among the vital initiatives preserved in the Assembly’s budget is the Summer Youth Employment Program, which helps young adults in urban and rural communities alike find entry-level work at a time when they need it the most.
“Our $15.5 million restoration looks to ensure the continued success of a program that helped nearly 1,300 youths in Monroe County find jobs last year.
“With this program in place, our young men and women – people plagued by the ripples of a shaky economy – have the best possible chance for career success. And that success will translate into a promising future for New York, making this investment well worth it.”
