Assemblymember Bronson Celebrates West Point Day
Assemblymember Harry B. Bronson (D-Rochester/Chili/Henrietta) announced the passage of a resolution honoring the men and women of the United States Military Academy at West Point. The resolution was part of the Assembly’s 63rd Annual West Point Day celebration.
“This is an extremely important tradition that the Assembly is part of,” Assemblymember Bronson said. “These brave cadets have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting our nation. Today, my colleagues and I had a chance to display our gratitude for that sacrifice.”
Since its establishment by an act of Congress on March 16, 1802, the United States Military Academy at West Point has been educating, training and inspiring leaders of character who one day will serve the Nation as officers in the United States Army. Each cadet must graduate with a commitment to the Academy’s core values: Duty, Honor, and Country. By providing a superb four year education, West Point has produced countless individuals who have gone on to lead our country both during and after their service.
“For over 200 years, West Point has shaped exemplary cadets who become leaders in all aspects of life,” Assemblymember Bronson said. “Although we reserve this day to honor these men and women, we are reminded each and every day of the freedoms they are so selflessly willing to protect.”
