“I’m proud to announce that the Assembly has introduced legislation that I’m sponsoring to provide tax cuts to hardworking middle-class families and expand the eligibility criteria for the Earned Income Tax Credit so more people can take advantage of significant tax savings. Under the plan, more than five million middle class New Yorkers would see a reduction in their personal income tax rate allowing families to keep more of their hard earned money. The proposal would also increase the Earned Income Tax Credit by five percent over two years, which would boost the average credit for more than 1.6 million New Yorkers. These tax relief measures will make a real difference in the lives of so many Rochester families who are struggling to get ahead. I will continue to work every day to make living in our community more affordable and I know we are on the right track to providing real benefit for our future. ”
