On Monday, July 10, Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) attended a press conference with Gov. Kathy Hochul at the Canandaigua Fire Department to address the disastrous flooding that hit the city of Canandaigua. More than 13,000 residences and commercial establishments experienced power outages, while emergency teams visited more than 120 households, relocating a total of 13 individuals and five pets. After the press conference, Gallahan volunteered to feed the first responders hot dogs as they went out and returned from checking on homes and assisting people in need.

“It is crucial to extend support and assistance to first responders who are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of affected individuals. Their dedication and bravery in the face of such natural disasters deserve our utmost respect and gratitude,” said Gallahan.

“Emergency personnel responded with swift, precise action to the flooding—their training and preparedness prevented any serious injuries or death to rescuers and the general public during the emergency and response. By working together and supporting our first responders, we can contribute to the overall resilience and recovery of the communities affected by the flood,” concluded Gallahan.
