Gallahan: A Reduction in Foundation Aid Would Hurt Our Schools Statewide

A Statement from Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) in response to Assembly Minority Conference’s Foundation Aid Press Conference in Albany on Jan. 22, 2024.

“In light of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s proposal to potentially revoke the ‘hold harmless’ provision of Foundation Aid, school districts throughout our state are in jeopardy. Despite the governor’s claims to care about education and the preservation of our public schools statewide, the potential reduction in funding for some schools is a slap in the face to New York families, parents, teachers, and students alike. In the weeks ahead, I will continue to voice not only my opposition to this proposal but also my constituents’ outrage.”
