“Our state is in a crisis, and today the Speaker has shown he is more concerned with protecting the Governor from the consequences of his coverup of nursing home deaths and allegations of sexual harassment than helping New Yorkers make it through this pandemic. In the face of a debt crisis and a fast-approaching budget deadline, the chamber remained empty today, and no one in New York was helped. The Speaker was unwilling to hold our Governor accountable today and hurt New York taxpayers by cancelling session.”
