Gallahan Calls on Department of Labor to Reopen Offices For in Person Services
Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) is calling on Governor Cuomo and the New York State Department of Labor to reopen physical unemployment offices following a statewide relaxation of COVID-19 related regulations, including capacity restrictions and mask mandates for vaccinated people.
“If our state is truly in a period of reopening, opening our unemployment offices should be a given now that so many restrictions on indoor offices have been lifted,” said Gallahan. “Countless constituents of mine have struggled throughout the last several months to work through the process of claiming unemployment and finding jobs over the phone and online, and opening these offices will only hasten the pace of our economic recovery by helping people get back to work. Let’s get these offices open, and let’s help people get back to work.”
