Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) is hailing the unanimous decision by a state selection committee to choose Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery as the first New York state veterans cemetery, which first opened in 2011. This official designation as a state veterans cemetery will make the cemetery eligible for federal funding.

Home to the birthplace of Memorial Day, Seneca County has a rich history in honoring our veterans, making Sampson the strongest choice for New York’s first veterans cemetery. Thank you to Sen.
