Gallahan Announces Over $100k In Grants For Public Libraries Within 131st Assembly District
Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) is announcing over $100,000 in grant funding that has been awarded to four different library projects within the 131st Assembly District through the New York State Department of Education and the New York State Library. The grants will help cover the costs of improvements to these libraries, which include the installation of air conditioning, replacement of outdated doorways, installation of security cameras, and outdoor lighting, among other projects.
Honeoye Public Library will be receiving $13,203 to upgrade five automatic entry doors. Pioneer Library System will be awarded $3,186 to replace two outdated doors that are safer and more energy-efficient. Waterloo Library & Historical Society will be given $91,873 to install air conditioning in the theatre space and perform electrical upgrades, while also replacing the blue front porch stone. Wood Library Association will be receiving $8,707 to install exterior lighting and security cameras.
“Our libraries are more critical than ever as we continue to further integrate technology into our personal and professional lives. I am glad these four library projects have secured the funding they need to move forward,” said Gallahan. “These projects will help our libraries continue to serve as community hubs for decades to come, enriching the lives of local residents through education and community-building.”
