Gallahan Encourages Constituents to Take Broadband Internet Survey to Improve Access

Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) is asking his constituents to take a survey issued by the New York State Public Service Commission to assess the availability, quality and pricing of broadband internet for households and businesses throughout the state.

New Yorkers are encouraged to complete both the internet speed test and the survey on the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) website in order to help the PSC develop a detailed internet access map and produce a report of findings and recommendations related to high-speed broadband access in New York state. When completed, the report will be submitted to the governor and Senate and Assembly leaders in May 2022, who will then be able to act upon its recommendations to improve internet service in underserved areas.

Residents and business owners can use this link to complete the survey and speed test, which should take less than 10 minutes to complete:

“Access to reliable, high-speed internet becomes more important for New York families and businesses with each passing year.I cannot overstate how important it is for people to take the survey and speed test for the Public Service Commission to accurately identify areas with an elevated need for high speed broadband,” said Gallahan.
