Letter to DOT About Sidewalk Along Henry Hudson Parkway
Joseph Palmieri
Bronx Borough Commissioner
NYC Department of Transportation
1400 Williamsbridge Road
Bronx, N.Y. 10461
Dear Mr. Palmieri:
I am writing to you regarding a serious problem that exists within my Assembly district.
Along Henry Hudson Parkway East north of West 246th Street, and south of West 250th Street, there is no sidewalk for pedestrians for a length of space. This is a very hazardous situation for pedestrians who literally have to walk into the street when passing this area. There is no specific address directly in front of or near this defective area.
I have been contacted by local residents who have voiced their concern with this matter. The issue is of particular concern because of the high number of commuters who utilize several buses that run along Henry Hudson Parkway within that immediate area as well as residents who walk to the synagogue or church just north of this location.
I request that DOT look into this matter, and quickly pave this stretch making it safer for local residents. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please contact me at my district office regarding a resolution to this problem. I look forward to your quick response.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Dinowitz
Member of Assembly
