Responding to complaints from several constituents, Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz contacted the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and Department of Transportation (DOT) to remove overgrown weeds along the northbound service road of Henry Hudson Parkway. The trouble spot was a long stretch just north of West 246th Street.

Assemblyman Dinowitz went to the location where weeds, some as high as five feet, blocked the path along the parkway to the Conservative Synagogue. Although the City claimed that the removal of these weeds is the responsibility of the private property owner in Fieldston, a crew was sent to the site at the Assemblyman's request to remove the weeds.

"I am pleased that Parks and DOT have been cooperative on this issue. The weeds along the service road had been a terrible eyesore as well as being dangerous. It is important that all State and City agencies work together with me and other elected officials to deal with problems affecting the quality of life in our community. I thank them for their response," said Dinowitz.
