Giglio Partners with Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office to Host Narcan Training
All Are Welcome To Attend
Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) is partnering with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and Dr. Errol D. Toulon, Jr. to offer training to the public on recognizing signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone. With New York still during an opioid epidemic, Giglio believes this free training seminar to be essential for all New Yorkers.
“Long Islanders, and all New Yorkers for that matter, are unfortunately very familiar with the opioid issue that plagues our state. We should be better preparing ourselves for how to fight it in real time,” Giglio said. “If more people become better equipped with the skills to save others from an overdose, we may just have a few more loved ones around to help us fight this ongoing problem.”
The training is set to take place on Jan. 18, 2023, from 3-6 p.m., in the Hotel Indigo at the Riverhead Banquet Hall, 1830 West Main Street, Rt. 25, Riverhead, NY 1190. Those interested in more information should reach out to Assemblywoman Giglio’s office at 631-727-0204 or at dohertyj@nyassembly.gov.
