Giglio Announces Car Seat Drive in Partnership with St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church
Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) is calling on the community to donate generously for a children’s car seat drive to benefit the needy in the community. In partnership with leadership at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, the drive will be accepting donations throughout the first three weeks of October, with collection ending Saturday, Oct. 21, and distribution of donated items to begin Monday, Oct. 23. Giglio says she is proud to help raise awareness.
“We’ve got numerous families throughout our community that have children to raise, but not enough can afford the safest seating for their children’s transportation in a car,” Giglio said. “The issue was brought to my attention thanks to the advocacy from the good people at St. John’s, and I’m happy to help bring awareness of this issue to the wider community. It’s said that it takes a village to raise a child, and this is just one example where the community coming together can truly help a child in need.”
Father Larry Duncklee, the pastor for the parish, was encouraged and thankful for the support from Assemblywoman Giglio. “I encourage anyone to donate car seats they not using to help save lives,” Fr. Larry said.
Donations will be collected at:
