“New York is on the verge of a fiscal crisis, in large part because the governor and the progressives who put pressure on her are ignoring the realities on the ground. Neglecting taxpayers’ needs – which includes safe roads and living wages – seems to be this governor’s mantra, and her proposal fails to address the needs of families, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seniors and veterans, while at the same time catering to asylum seekers with billions in funding. Her own budget director has said these spending habits are unsustainable, and if we could solve these problems by throwing money at them, they’d already be solved. Common sense needs to return to this government because overspending is killing New York.”
