Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C,I-Riverhead) is voicing her frustration and anger after a landmark vote by the Assembly Ways and Means Committee to block a proposal providing income tax exemptions to New York state veterans. These are the same legislators who recently authorized a taxpayer-funded $2.1 billion stimulus program for non US Citizens. Giglio is stunned by the priorities that have been showcased by the Assembly Majority, who have prioritized non-New Yorkers over the constituents they were elected to serve.

​“This is simply classic Albany at work, we can’t support our nation’s finest with a tax reduction, but we can effortlessly spend $2.1 billion on a stimulus fund for non-US citizens,” Giglio said. “It’s a disturbing trend that constantly plagues every proposal, every bill and every resolution. To the Majorities, it’s not about giving back to our nation’s veterans who have sacrificed so much for us, it’s about moving their political agenda along at all costs to you.”
