Angelino Says Hochul’s Next Steps Should Address Business Climate
Statement from Assemblyman Joseph Angelino (R,C-Norwich) on Gov. Kathy Hochul’s State of the State
“My Minority colleagues and I for years have been speaking out about out-migration and public safety issues, I am glad to see Gov. Hochul shares our concerns. Troublingly, New York has been dead last in business climate rankings for decades. Little has been done to truly lift the burdens created by the state’s red tape and high taxes, which sends companies packing for greener pastures, works to shutter main street businesses and leaves New Yorkers with fewer prospects. Lastly, if we want to improve public safety, let’s get our law enforcement and criminal justice professionals involved in the discussion who were left out of the conversation when bail reform was first devised. With everyone’s input, I think the governor would be surprised by the improvements we can make.
