Angelino: Cuomo Aide’s Admission of Holding Back Nursing Home Data Requires Complete Investigation
Statement from Assemblyman Joseph Angelino (R,C,I-Norwich) on the breaking news of Cuomo aide admitting in closed-door meeting with Majority members that they withheld data to avoid DOJ probe
February 15, 2021
“New Yorkers are furious that they have been lied to by the Cuomo administration, and the fact they held a closed-door meeting to apologize to Majority leadership and admit they withheld the data, rather than admit this and apologize to the public, is beyond the pale of what is acceptable. All this talk about New York as tough and loving is a bunch of lip service from the governor. What they did was not loving. When saving your political hide is more important than the truth and the people you serve, it’s time to reconsider your priorities. I, again, call for a complete investigation, and, this time, a federal investigation into this great breach of public trust and the loss of 15,000 lives.”
