Angelino: Assembly Majority Repeatedly Block Efforts to Hold Governor Accountable

Statement from Assemblyman Joseph Angelino (R,C,I-Norwich)

“This will be the fifth session day in a row where Assembly Majority leaders actively shutdown legislative proceedings in order to protect the governor from consequences for his actions. We have attached to more than 80 bills an amendment to strip the governor of his extraordinary emergency powers and still Majority members would rather keep a man in power who lied to the public about 15,000 deaths in nursing homes and is facing allegations from three women of sexual harassment.”

"I find it inconceivable that after nearly two weeks of majority members, in all forms of media, vocally condemning the governor's dubious actions and activities, they voted unanimously to allow the governor to continue with his emergency powers. They have lost their credibility.”
