Angelino Announces New Loyalty Rewards Program at State Campgrounds
Assemblyman Joseph Angelino (R,C,I-Norwich) is pleased to announce that the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is launching a new loyalty program starting with the nine-month online reservation period for the 2022 camping season. Campers will be able to earn points for every dollar spent on overnight accommodations at camping sites across the state. These points may later be redeemed on future bookings.
“Our state boasts some of the most beautiful and exciting natural landscapes in the country and now New York will reward you for taking advantage of all the great camping opportunities available with a rewards program,” said Angelino, who is a member of the Assembly Committee on Tourism, Parks, Art and Sports Development. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of this new points program and enjoy all the best of what our state has to offer.”
Because points are awarded after campers leave their sites, there is still time to enroll and earn on already-booked reservations. According to the State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, there is still availability for the 2021 camping season. Camping reservations can be made online at newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com or by contacting the ReserveAmerica call center at 1-800-456-CAMP.
NYS Parks and DEC manage 120 campgrounds with 15,000 campsites that can accommodate tents and RVs and have more than 800 cabins, cottages, yurts and a lighthouse. Camping site locations are varied, including woods, waterfront locations and more, and take advantage of trails, historic sites and golfing.
