“Today I joined my colleagues to call for an increase in funding for local infrastructure. It is clear by the current conditions of our roads that New York’s infrastructure is rapidly deteriorating. The Long Island Expressway is in desperate need of repair. Gov. Hochul needs to take action and address our local infrastructure immediately. We ask for additional funding to maintain local roads, bridges and culverts. This includes increasing Extreme Winter Recovery funds and fully funding programs such as CHIPS, BRIDGE-NY and PAVE-NY. Local municipalities need our help; local roads truly are essential. We all use our roads; we have all seen the state they are in. Now it is time to invest in them to ensure their longevity.”
