“Our state is big, and a lot of people need help, but the way we spend in New York is unsustainable. It’ll prove problematic for future New Yorkers, if we even have any sticking around to help foot the bill. Several of the governor’s ideas are promising enough, but I’m incredibly concerned regarding her push for increased housing on Long Island, a measure I could be in favor of if the state were to work more closely with local zoning authorities. I’m hesitant to wholesale endorse anything until I read beyond her headline-catching presentation. As mentioned, I’m more inclined to see our spending reduced moving forward.”
