“As we pass yet another budget extender — now the tenth — I am deeply frustrated by the ongoing failure of the governor and legislative leaders to deliver an on-time, responsible state budget. These repeated delays not only erode public trust, but they leave local governments, school districts and hard-working taxpayers across Long Island in limbo.

“Every day without a full budget puts critical services and funding at risk. From school aid and local infrastructure improvements to public safety funding and essential health care programs, the consequences of this dysfunction are real and far-reaching.

“New Yorkers deserve better. They deserve a government that can meet deadlines and make thoughtful, transparent decisions, not one that governs on week-by-week decisions.”
