DeStefano Joins Call for Greater State Investment in Local Roads Across NY
A Statement from Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C,I-Medford)
March 3, 2021
“Today I joined my colleagues in calling for a restoration of funding for local infrastructure. We are asking to restore $120.6 million in transportation aid cut from last year’s budget and additional funding to maintain local roads, bridges and culverts. This includes increasing Extreme Winter Recovery funding to $100 million and fully funding programs such as CHIPS, BRIDGE-NY and PAVE-NY. Local municipalities need our help; local roads truly are essential. We all use our roads; we need to invest in them to ensure their longevity. We need additional funding to do so.”
