Sempolinski to Hold Canisteo Town Hall
Assemblyman Sempolinski Hoping to Meet Constituents Thursday
ALBANY – Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski will hold a town hall meeting Thursday, June 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Canisteo American Legion, 61 W. Main St., Canisteo.
“This is a chance for folks to share their concerns with me and for me to give them an update on what’s going on in Albany,” Assemblyman Sempolinski said. “I’m also a Canisteo resident and my wife and I are so proud to be raising our two girls in the beautiful village of Canisteo.”
Voters sent Assemblyman Sempolinski to Albany in January. While this was his first legislative session as a member of the Assembly, he has deep roots in the community.
A lifelong resident of the Southern Tier, Assemblyman Sempolinski was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 23rd Congressional District and served as chief of staff to his predecessor, former Assemblyman Joseph Giglio. Assemblyman Sempolinski was also district director for former U.S. Rep. Tom Reed and was development director for Archbishop Walsh Academy in Olean.
“Talking to people in the district and hearing their concerns is the most important part of my job,” Assemblyman Sempolinski said. “Like most upstate communities, Canisteo faces challenges imposed by Albany. The community was also hit by flooding last year and heavy rain this spring. I’m holding this town hall so people can share with me, face-to-face, what their concerns are, so I can take that back to Albany with me and represent their interests faithfully.”
